Following the launch of the EITI audit reports, the Ghana EITI Secretariat in collaboration with the National Steering Committees is embarking on a series of dissemination workshops with the relevant stakeholders. One of the series is a workshop with Mining Companies and the Municipal/District Assemblies within the mining enclaves. The workshop is to inform the stakeholders on the contents of the 2006, 2007 and 2008 EITI audit reports.

DAR-ES-SALAAM, 19 OCTOBER 2010. Ghana has achieved Compliance with the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), the global standard for improved transparency in the oil, gas and mining sectors. The EITI Board designated Ghana as 'EITI Compliant' at a meeting today in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

Ghana Play host to regional conference on EITI |

Accra, Sept. 27. GNA – Vice-President Kwesi Amissah- Arthur on Thursday said Ghana has instituted various measures to strengthen its public financial management systems as a way of finding long term solutions to the problem of weak institutional capacities and government ineffectiveness.
In an address read on his behalf at the opening of a two-day regional conference on Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), Mr Amissah-Arthur said the implementation of appropriate initiatives such as reforming the national budgeting processes, implementing fiscal decentralisation regime and sanitising the national payroll systems, among other initiatives and objectives, were adopted to help in addressing obstacles militating against institutional and government effectiveness.
